Voting in person
When Voting in person this is the procedure:
You must show your photo ID. The person examining it has a list with all the registered voters in that precinct listed. If your name is on that list you are given a ballot and you continue to a private booth where you fill out your ballot. If your name isn't on the list you won't be able to cast your vote there. Most people don't realize what happens before the poll opens in the morning and after it closes at night. I worked at one of our local polls as a Deputy. Before the poll opened I had to observe other poll workers as they set up. This included verifying all the ballots that had been designated for that poll. The ballots were in stacks of 50 sealed in plastic. I and another poll worker verified the numbers on the ballots and the number of stacks. There was a checklist that we both signed verifying the ballot count was correct. The electronic voting machines were set up and checked to make sure the number was at 0. Also, the machine which the completed ballots are fed into was checked to make sure the number was at 0. When the poll closed at night the ballots were counted and the number of used had to be the same as the number of ballots taken from the stacks. I was in charge of watching this process. Two people had to sign the sheet verifying all the information. After the counting was complete the used and unused ballots were placed in a briefcase-type container. Everything had a zip-tie of a specific color to secure the containers so if anyone tampered with them it would be known. Everything was then loaded into the trunk of the head clerk's car my job As a deputy I had to follow her to the SEO's office to ensure the ballots arrived without anyone having had access to them during the delivery. I was impressed with the number of precautions that were taken to prevent voter fraud. I think the process is similar to the chain of evidence process followed by law enforcement uses when processing evidence from a crime scene.
Mail-in voting.
Mail-in ballots are mailed weeks before election day to any eligible registered voter who requests one. Last election cycle several hundred were mailed out to people who didn't request them. The story was about a worker who had made a mistake. Moving on, a person gets their ballot and fills it out, and drops it in the mailbox. The mailman takes it back to the local post office. Then it goes to a sorting facility, ( I think in Tampa). After being sorted it is finally delivered to the local SOE's office where the signatures are verified and the votes are tallied. Let's look at all the opportunities for voter fraud in this process.
First, when the person fills out the ballot, it could be anyone or in the case of elderly people, having people fill them out for the person but filling them out with their own choices. Even the SOE admits this is a big problem in old age homes.
The mail carrier picks up the ballot and takes it to the local USPS office. (I have read stories in the news where bags of mail were found in dumpsters and other places.) Once it gets to the USPS office it is transferred into bins where it is shipped to the sorting facility. After the sorting process is finished it is finally shipped to the local SOE's office.
If this was evidence in a criminal case it would be thrown out at the first step which is the person filling it out without a witness. The rest of the delivery process would be laughed at in a court because there is absolutely no chain of evidence. Do you think this method is OK? I don't! I think our vote and protecting it is one of the most important things a citizen can do. Many people say they like convenience. Is it worth taking the risk of voter fraud for convenience? Years ago people had to travel miles by horse and buggy to vote. Our voter polls are close to our homes and open plenty of hours so everyone has the opportunity to vote.
If you agree with me, please contact your State congressman and your local SOE and voice your opinion. I have already voiced mine.
No one ever checks to see if 1 or a 100+ people vote from a single residence. No one checks the voter roles if Eric is in place. The SOEs, Country Record Officials or whatever they are called in other states just takes Eric at face value and being accurate. In the 2020 election there were many people who had to be the olderst people on earth vote no one batted an eye. Nursing homes that have 100% voting is a strong indicator of fraud. Mail in voting should be exception and not the rule. When people think that their errands or vacations are more important than voting (which is the case now as many support the convenience of mail in voting). If you were to stop mail in voting, you know the dead won't leave the grave to come in and vote.
