Useful facts
When welding or doing carpentry sometimes you need to cut the material exactly in half. This is something I wasn’t taught in school but realized it in my much younger days while working as a welder for my father. Here’s a example: A piece of metal measuring 12 3/32 cut in half would give you 2 pieces 6 3/64.
When you let the top number the same , the (3 in 3/32 )and double the bottom number, the ( 32 in 3/32 )you will get the answer.
Another example: 1/2 -- 1/4.
Hope someone can find this useful.😊
